Jori Davis (2008-11) still currently holds the records for career points at Greece-Athena High School while also ending up 8th in that same category here at Indiana.  While Jori was here, the Indiana Women’s Basketball program was not at its highest point, but Jori was.  She continually ended up at the top of the leader board after every season.  Her name also appears multiple times in the Record books.

  • 7. Career Average Points Per Game – 14.2
  • 3. Career Free Throws Made – 43

These don’t even list all the single game records she still currently holds.

According the Greecepost.com,  Jori was selected in the 3rd Round of the 2011 WNBA Draft by the Indiana Fever.

However, the rosters soon were cut down to 11 players, and she was cut.

“I felt like I could play at that level but it didn’t work out this time,” Davis said.”There was no bad feelings and with the rosters dropped to 11 spots per team, it’s tough to make the league. There are a lot of veterans.”

After hearing the disappointing news, she decided to still keep a open mind.

“Going overseas is not a bad thing and it’s definitely going to keep me motivated,” she said.

“I’m going to polish my game and keep working hard,” Davis said. “I would like to be a better defender too because a lot of my attention at Indiana was being a scorer.”

Jori currently plays for the Israeli Womens Basketball League, but she has every intention on coming back to the USA to continue her career in the WNBA.
